Based in the Vessel Traffic Services Centre, Teesport, the AHM will act as VTS Manager, within a team working on a 12 hour shift basis. The primary responsibilities of the role are:
- Operate, control & update the VTS system
- Supervise the VTS operator
- Enforce legislation
- Gather & disseminate data/information regarding shipping movements
- Deal with enquiries from vessels, port users & customers
You will possess excellent communication skills, be able to prioritise tasks, work effectively as part of a team & possess an understanding of the Port Safety code, Maritime Safety, IMO & Dangerous Cargo regulations.
Candidates will hold a senior marine qualification & have served at sea at least in the rank of Chief Officer. In addition, knowledge of petrochemical handling would be desirable.
