Job Description
Illinois Marine Towing, a fast growing barge transport company specializing in barge towing, fleeting operations, and shipyard services, has an opportunity for a full-time Crew Dispatcher.
Key responsibilities include:
Dispatch crewmembers, and coordinate the most efficient and appropriate logistics of transportation, to get crewmembers on and off vessels.
Communicate crew change and any other pertinent operational information to employees, vessel captains, and operations in the most efficient manner.
Administer DHASI testing.
Schedule pre-employment drug screen, and post offer medical examinations.
Assist in new employee orientation.
Provide sea service support of employee development and steersmen program.
Participate in the on-call rotation for HR & HSSE.
Participate in weekly crew change meetings.
Prepare and submit data for bimonthly processing of payroll.  Meet established deadlines.
Provide administrative support as needed.
Review vessel logs daily to ensure fleet crew were on-time and present for crew change.
Assist in preparing PAF's for personnel changes, promotions, terminations, payroll, etc.
Help communicate the IMT culture, policies, procedure requirements, benefits, etc.
Assist in the implementation and data upkeep of automated crewing systems.
Provide input and suggestions to enhance operating efficiencies.
Elevate performance issues to Crew Manager for appropriate handling.
Carry out the business philosophy and mission of IMT.
Additional responsibilities as assigned by management.


Job Requirements
Must be available to work "on-call" on a rotational basis as required.  IMT is a 24/7, 365 day operation.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to build strong relationships and work effectively with vessel employees, vessel operations, HSSE, and HR.
Strong computer skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and situations simultaneously.
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to be self-managed while working effectively as a team to meet company goals.
Undergraduate degree preferred.
